During morning sessions, we created a time line of earth history on register tape. Human history takes up a few inches of a 20 foot strip.
We also worked on a PowerPoint for weather forecasting.
Afternoon sessions were extremely fun, especially art. We finally got to paint with water colors and we began the design for our glass projects. My art project is a model of the carbon-12 atom.
I enjoyed the lecture on the portrayal of American Indians in culture, and I am looking forward to receiving a book we reviewed today that integrates literature in science. One of the activities I plan to do with my biology class is Postcard from a Biome. Another activity, I plan to share with chemistry is Interview with an Atom. That activity reviews many of the atomic terms students have a challenging time remembering.
